The discovery search is available to users who are not registered in the ISAN system. It enables to query the ISAN Registry for audiovisual works (title based queries) or resolve (lookup) existing ISAN identifiers. Only basic descriptive information is displayed in the discovery search.
Users looking for full descriptive information or more complex search criteria need to be registered in the ISAN system as Registered Readers via an approved ISAN registration Agency (see below for more details).
A Registered Reader is any legal entity or individual registered as such within the ISAN system via an ISAN Registration Agency.
After completing the registration process through their local ISAN Registration Agency, Registered Readers can log into the web interface of their Registration Agency to search and retrieve complete descriptive information for any work or version stored in the ISAN Registry.
If you are not yet a Registered Reader, contact the ISAN Registration Agency of your choice to apply as a Registered Reader and obtain your login and password to the ISAN Registry.
Supporter Readers
A Supporter Reader is any legal entity or individual registered as such in the ISAN system and authorized to obtain updated snapshots of the ISAN Registry or a permanent reader access via the ISAN API.
Supporter Readers pay a contribution fee that helps to cover the costs incurred to manage the registry and deliver the service. To become a Supporter Reader, applicants must register with ISAN International Agency or their ISAN Registration Agency.
If you are interested to be a Supporter Reader, contact ISAN International Agency or your ISAN Registration Agency.
